A few years ago, if someone had told me I’d be co-running a functional medicine clinic with my wife, I probably would’ve laughed. My background was in federal law enforcement, then software engineering, and now music production. Medicine wasn’t on my radar—at least not in the way it is now.
But here we are. My wife Colleen, who has a deep passion for patient care and wellness, and I teamed up to open a modern functional medicine practice. And I can honestly say it’s one of the most fulfilling things we’ve ever done together.
Our practice is built around one core idea: treat the whole body, not just the symptoms. It’s something we feel is missing from much of today’s healthcare system—and something we’re determined to change.
The Problem With “Fixing Symptoms”
Let’s be real—most of us are used to a medical system that works like a band-aid. You go to the doctor, they look at your symptoms, maybe run a quick test, and then write a prescription. And while that might help in the short term, it rarely gets to the why behind the problem.
Why are you feeling tired all the time? Why is your back always hurting? Why is your weight going up even though your lifestyle hasn’t changed? These questions don’t always get the attention they deserve in traditional medicine.
That’s where functional medicine comes in. It’s not about rushing patients in and out the door. It’s about slowing down, looking deeper, and connecting the dots.
What Functional Medicine Means to Us
For us, functional medicine is about treating the body as a system—everything is connected. Hormones, digestion, sleep, stress, nutrition, inflammation—it all plays a part in how you feel and function every day.
In our clinic, we offer services like hormone replacement therapy, pain management, weight loss programs, IV hydration therapy, PRP treatments, massage therapy, and more. But what really makes our approach different is how we combine these services based on each patient’s unique needs.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for the next. That’s why we take the time to understand each patient’s lifestyle, goals, medical history, and habits before recommending a plan.
Why We Started This Together
This journey wasn’t just about starting a business. It was personal for both of us.
Colleen has always been passionate about helping people, especially when it comes to long-term wellness. She saw how many patients were falling through the cracks of the traditional system—getting told everything was “normal” even when they felt anything but. She wanted to offer something more personalized, more empowering, and more effective.
For me, after years in high-stress jobs, I started to see the toll it takes on your body and mind when you ignore your health. Transitioning into music and tech gave me more freedom, but also made me realize how important it is to feel good while you’re building the life you want. That’s why I was all-in when Colleen came to me with the idea for our clinic.
Together, we knew we could build something special.
How We Blend Modern Tools With Human Care
One thing that makes our practice unique is the way we mix hands-on care with modern tools. I may not be a doctor, but my background in software engineering definitely plays a role in how we run the clinic.
We use digital systems for onboarding, patient records, telehealth visits, and even wearable tracking so that patients can monitor their sleep, energy, and recovery over time. But at the end of the day, it’s still about the human connection. We want people to feel heard and seen—because healing doesn’t happen when you feel like a number.
The Impact So Far
We’ve had patients come in after seeing multiple specialists with no clear answers. Some were dealing with chronic fatigue, stubborn weight gain, low libido, or constant pain. After working with us, many finally felt like someone was taking their concerns seriously—and even more importantly, they started seeing real results.
It’s not a quick fix. We don’t promise overnight transformations. But when you focus on root causes and commit to a plan, amazing things can happen. We’ve seen people get their energy back, reduce their medications, sleep better, and feel more confident in their bodies than they have in years.
That’s the kind of change that keeps us going.
What’s Next
We’re just getting started. As we continue to grow, we’re adding more treatments, more wellness programs, and more ways to support our patients—both in-person and virtually. We also want to expand education so people understand why functional medicine matters and how it can change lives.
If you’re someone who’s tired of being told “everything looks normal” when you know something feels off… you’re not alone. We created this clinic for people like you. People who want real answers, a plan that makes sense, and a team that’s in it for the long haul.
I never imagined I’d go from law enforcement to software to songwriting to co-running a medical practice—but life has a funny way of leading you exactly where you’re meant to be. And right now, that place is here, helping people feel better from the inside out.
Our goal isn’t just to treat symptoms. It’s to help people take back control of their health, their energy, and their lives. And if that sounds like the kind of care you’ve been searching for, we’d love to be a part of your journey.
